The buckwheat diet is based on buckwheat porridge eating. Its duration is 5 days and one can decrease about 11 lb. of one’s weight during this period. Yes, despite of high caloricity of the product, it is used for losing weight, of course, if one has enough will and is constant (permanent) because the buckwheat diet is heavy as all the monodiets.
This menu differs with low content of carbohydrates and a big amount of proteins. More over, carbohydrates in buckwheat are complex and they don’t assimilate so easy by the human organism. It may be underlined as a serious defect of the diet. We must mark as well that you mustn’t use salt, butter and different sauces. The only one exception is soya sauce. You may add sesame seeds, wheat germ, pumpkin seeds.
Despite of its defects there are many advantages:
High content of vitamins of different groups (for example, B1,B2.B3,B6,B9, vitamin E and vitamin PP), mineral substances and microelements (such as: potassium, copper, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, rutin, iodine, manganese, chrome, fluorine, iron and zinc);
The buckwheat porridge is rich in fibers (one portion contains about 30% of recommended daily amount);
The diet helps the organism to lose cholesterol, stimulates taking out heavy metals and toxins from the body;
The porridge assimilates easily by the nutritive system that’s why it is suitable for those who suffer gastritis, pancreatitis, stomach ulcer;
The vegetable proteins in buckwheat are assimilated easily by the human organism. The buckwheat must be prepared in advance, before making porridge from it. For that pour 1 glass of the product by 2 glasses of boiling water and leave it for a night. You may use (not necessary) a thermos flask. The followers of this regime of getting slim say that the similar process improves taste qualities of porridge. In no way you mustn’t add salt or butter. The buckwheat diet is not so raw as it seems from the first sight. Because each diet supposes to cleanse the organism from everything junk, don’t forget to drink enough water!
Everyday menu:
*Breakfast: 1 glass boiled buckwheat, cooked without salt and butter, 1 glass defatted drink (kefir); if you feel hungry, you can add 2 slices of bread made from buckwheat;
*Lunch: 50 gr. boiled buckwheat, 1-2 glasses kefir; 2 dietetic buckwheat balls (cooked this way: boil the porridge, add some soya, stir it well, make balls and put them in the oven for 25 minutes);
*Dinner: 70 grams boiled buckwheat and a glass kefir, you may add any dietetic salad.
Kefir can be drunk during the meals and during the whole day too.
Some advice:
If you have no problems with the diet, it’s great! But if you don’t feel comfortable and you want to eat something else except buckwheat, then you can add the next products to your menu:
*dried fruit(s);
*2 fresh fruit;
*cabbage salad;
* some parsley.
Buckwheat porridge without salt helps the organism to be free from spare water and toxins, but if you need some salt, using the nutritive regime, you may feel faintness, headache, low blood pressure. Don’t suffer! In such a case put some salt in your dishes during cooking. The results of the diet are impressive, but health is wealth-don’t forget about it!
Contradictions:
Buckwheat diet must be applied after the consultation with a physician, particularly if the person has any chronic disease.
The buckwheat monodiet:
Buckwheat has other simple advantages as well. It is easily and quickly cooked and it not expensive. You can lose to 11 lb. a week with the help of this diet. But don’t keep it too long –we recommend you to do a break after the first week.
Buckwheat monodiet logically supposes to eat only buckwheat. The grains are soaked in the boiling water (1 glass of buckwheat for 2 glasses water) and it is left for a night. Cooked this way buckwheat sates more, because it requires more energy for nutrition. Then it keeps more useful substances too. Except buckwheat you can consume only one thing-buttermilk with fat 1 %, not more than 1 liter a day. The other allowed drinks are mineral water and green tea. Take vitamins at any price!
The last meals must be approximately 4 hours before going to bed, and even better 6 hours. If it is difficult for you, drink half glass of buttermilk –it will reduce sense of hunger.
We must add that keeping buckwheat diet you won’t get gluten because buckwheat doesn’t contain this substance. The diet helps to cleanse the liver, intenstinal tract and skin. It improves metabolism and take out toxins, so it is useful even for those who don’t want to lose weight.
Keeping this diet, don’t use sauces, salt and spices because salt keeps water in the organism and spices only kindle the appetite. The lack of salt, however, can cause headache, faintness and low blood pressure, so if you feel similar symptoms, put some salt into the next portion of porridge.
If you feel fainted or you expect the hard mental work, you may eat a teaspoon of honey without thinking about calories-your brain will swallow the whole glucose. You may eat only honey or melt it in water or tea.
Buckwheat diet mustn’t be kept more than a week. You may repeat it a month later on. Though the diet is very useful, many people don’t manage and refuse in the third day. It is because of the monotony-you have to eat only buckwheat. You feel terrible very soon seeing buckwheat so you may allow one-two not very sweet fruit, a spoon of honey and green spices (dill, parsley, onion) to keep it.
Buckwheat diet is not recommended for the pregnant and suckling mothers, it is not allowed at stomach and duodenum ulcer and gastritis. It is very useful to leave the diet smoothly and not to stuff up with all sorts of things at the first day. Include the products one by one in your menu –vegetables, then fish, chicken and fruit.
During the first 10 days after the monodiet take to 1500 calories a day. Thus you may eat everything without ruining the results of the diet.

*in more cases it doesn’t lead to fatigue and faintness;

*the diet is difficult because of the monotonous menu.
